Would you rather magically have the knowledge of a master sommelier (wine expert) for the rest of your life OR enjoy a luxury, all expenses paid, one week culinary tour of Italy?

    I’d definitely take the culinary tour of Italy. Although I love a nice bottle of wine, food and travel experiences rate more highly for me.

    Although I should say that my uncle has a vineyard, my cousin is a sommelier/restaurant owner and my boyfriend’s sister works in the wine industry, so I have a few sources for wine advice …

    No contest! Italy, of course. I’m not a wine person, but if I really cared I could always look it up.

    Hands down a week in Italy.

    Would have to add some real espresso everyday too, a few times! ; )

    With this quick of answers from everyone it means a BAD would you rather… I did have it as a culinary tour of Japan and changed it last minute. Don’t know if that would have changed answers. I have been wishing for more wine knowledge lately but I guess I too would take the culinary tour! Okay… now I am challenged to come up with a better Would you Rather next time that makes people think long and hard….

    I’d rather have the sommelier’s knowledge, but it’s not entirely fair of me since I go to Italy to see my family all the time… ;)

    I’d rather have the sommelier’s knowledge as well. I could save up for a trip to Italy and do it in culinary style, but it’d take hours and hours over years for me to become a wine expert. I’m definitely weak in that area at this point. Now, if that one week culinary tour happened annually, that’d be another question…

    i would rather have the sommelier’s knowledge but maybe i’m just spoiled having done a road trip around southern italy, where we ate the most delicious meals and stayed in charming places, last summer…
