Yum! I’m a big fan of pear butter, so naturally this pear ginger compote caught my attention. Next time I run across gorgeous pears at the market, I’m grabbing some and giving this recipe a whirl!

Wow, that is a good neighbour!
My new neighbour decided to make his presence known by immediately cutting down all the trees. Including the ancient lilacs that divided our property. I cried.
On to happier subjects… I love the pear compote – I did buy some canning supplies this year, and have made a few things – this compote would be a wonderful gift for the holidays. (Maybe with a bottle of wine and a box of good crackers!)

sounds lovely…if i liked pears that is. i recently made something similar with apples and spooned it into my morning oatmeal for a whole week. yum. i’ll bet this would be great in oatmeal but a spoon is also a mighty fine vehicle too.
