On Friday, Whipped was featured in Daily Candy Chicago. I created a three-course meal for autumn entertaining starting with this squash bisque.
As a redhead, I may have been predestined to love autumn. My fair skin gets a much-needed reprieve from the summer sun and like a contented chameleon, I blend into my surroundings. The first whispers of cooler air coax my jeans and boots out of the closet and the warmer blankets onto the bed. Though it is sad to see fresh berries go, they are followed by a new batch of satisfying flavors: apples, pears, pumpkin, squash.
Don’t get depressed about the departure of summer produce! Fall favorites hold their own presenting a variety of colors and delectable dishes. It is the perfect time to invite a few friends over for a cozy night in and fill their tummies with warm, comforting dishes.
I was honored and excited when the editor of Daily Candy asked if I was interested in creating a three-course meal featuring autumn’s best for them. Find my entertaining ideas and recipes on their site. Just click on the links below:
Acorn Squash Bisque with Fried Sage
Pork Tenderloin with Apple Cider Glaze and Braised Red Cabbage with Apples
Pear Crisp with Maple Pecan Crumble
(I got a comment on Facebook that this photo looked liked a Cat’s Eye and now I can’t stop thinking about it. Perhaps a perfect 1st course for a Halloween gathering!)
